About

My first career-aligned job was in IT working for a financial broker-dealer (read: small enterprise, big budget). It was an awesome experience working for a motivated IT department that had the budget to throw down. After six years of moving from Help-Desk to Senior System Administrator (at a few different companies) I found myself with the need for the flexibility to travel and work remote.

I found myself freelancing building custom WordPress themes and plug-ins. Over time I was able to build a working relationship with a great client/agency handling all development and adminisration of their client’s sites. After five years of freelancing this same client brought me in on a contract working on a project for the Afghanistan Justice Sector Support Program with support from the US State Department.

Following that contract I’m now working full-time, remote, for a great company!

Work

Recently I have been working on:

NodeJS+React - took a full-time remote-position at a company working on a React application that helps users track the value of their personal Sports Card collection, make informed buying/selling decisions, and find deals by leveraging historical data from related marketplaces such as eBay.

Golang+Vue+Vuetify - as part of a team building an application for the Afghanistan Justice Sector Support Program (JSSP) with support from the US State Department.

WordPress - custom theme and plug-in builds from scratch. These sites are built using Advanced Custom Fields (no unmanageable page-builders) and minimal additional plug-ins/libraries are used to reduce dependence on third-parties.

WooCommerce - same as above; every effort is made to build custom WooCommerce integrations that do not override templates to maintain stability with future updates.

Shopify - theme and app customization, data-migration, store-management, and store launch.
